K9 Unit
Meet Shark, Lewistown Police Department's 3 yo K9. Shark is a German Shepherd from Hungary. Shark and his handler Officer Johnson work directly with the Narcotics Unit on investigations as well as assisting in other agencies investigations in the area.
D.R.E
The Lewistown Police Department has a D.R.E on staff! D.R.E. stands for Drug Recognition Expert. This officer is highly trained in being able to evaluate a person and determine what type of drug they are currently on.
Evidence Tech
The Evidence Technician for the Lewistown Police Department handles crime scenes as well as the handling of vital evidence. This officer processes evidence from crimes in our own Evidence room and coordinates with the Crime Labs to further our investigations.
Narcotics Unit
The Narcotics Unit is made up of 2 Officers and a Sergeant. This unit works in many different capacities such as executing search warrants, interdiction, and interviewing suspects to name a few. This team works directly with both state and federal law enforcement to further their investigations.
Child Sex Crimes
The Lewistown Police Department has multiple officers who are certified Forensic Interviewers. These Officers have been specially trained in investigating sex crimes against children.
